Graduates of 2023
Anagha Anil spent two semesters of research in the Ye lab, learning bioinformatics and participating in a Gene-Environment Interaction project. She is attending the M.S. program in Quantitative Biology and Bioinformatics at Carnegie Mellon University.
Abigail Baur spent four semesters of research in the Ye lab, participating in both computational and experimental research. She learned coding in Python and R, performed data analysis of a huge dataset (UK Biobank) and participated in a PRS-Environment Interaction project. In her last semester, she joined our experimental team and had fun with molecular cloning. She will be joining the Physician Assistant Program at University of Colorado Anschutz School of Medicine.
Julia Cazabon spent four semesters of research in the Ye lab. She participated in our experimental project to study regulatory genetic variants for FADS genes. She mastered a range of experimental techniques, ranging from PCR, gel electrophoresis, gel extraction and purification, double digestion and purification, ligation, mini-prep, and cell culture. Julia trained multiple junior undergrads in the lab. She will be joining the LSU Health New Orleans School of Medicine with a full-ride scholarship, the Marcia and Billy Beer Endowed Scholarship Fund!
Isabelle Bowman spent four semesters of research in the Ye lab. She participated in our experimental project to study regulatory genetic variants for FADS genes. She mastered a range of experimental techniques, ranging from PCR, gel electrophoresis, gel extraction and purification, double digestion and purification, ligation, mini-prep, and cell culture. Isabelle also trained multiple junior undergrads in the lab. She is currently applying to medical school.
