Ye Lab @ UGA Nutritional Genomics

Bridging Nutrition and Genomics

We are a Human Genetics lab with a special interest in Human Nutrition. We strive to identify genetic variants that make each one of us unique in our nutritional requirements and risks of metabolic diseases. We aim for a future of Personalized Nutrition. Our research employs computational and experimental methodologies from Evolutionary and Quantitative Genomics, Molecular Genetics, and Nutritional Sciences. Read more about our Research and latest Publications.

The Ye lab is in the Department of Genetics at the University of Georgia (UGA). We are also affiliated with the Institute of Bioinformatics at UGA.

Join Us

We always welcome highly motivated postdoc, graduate, undergraduate, and high school students to join the group. Read more about how to join us. Some research directions include:

  • Polygenic evolution of human complex traits (computational);
  • Gene-environment interactions in complex traits (computational);
  • Omics data analysis, including genome assembly, RNAseq, scRNAseq, and ChIP-seq (computational);
  • Human molecular genetics, investigating the molecular mechanisms of adaptive and disease-associated variants (experimental);

Please email your CV to Kaixiong to inquire about openings.

(We love having undergrads doing research in the lab! But currently, we don't have openings for undergraduate students in the wet lab. Undergrads with a programming background or interest are still encouraged to reach out. Updated on January 26, 2024)
